[How To] Access Android devices in Gnome (Arch Linux) Posted: 16 Mar 2013 04:05 PM PDT It is now extremely easy to connect and access your Android devices (4.x) in Gnome. If you are using arch, just install these two packages gvfs-git and libmtp-git. I use yaourt which makes life easier (no need to add any PPA or stuff). I just run these two commands: yaourt gvfs-git yaourt libmtp-git Which will install the needed packages. Once installed you may want to restart your PC. Now when you connect the Android device (in my case Nexus 4, 7 and 10) it will appear on the places panel of Nautilus (Files). You can now transfer data to and from the device. Thanks to Adrià Arrufat and the Googke + Gnome community. Distribution: Project: |
